Well, what can I say..? There really are so many destinations in the world where you can ski. And not just the obvious places, when you realise you could be ski touring around 4000m peaks but looking out at the desert or touring across a wilderness unknown to the valleys around Mont Blanc you realise there is something worth investigating beyond Western Europe.
I have listed a couple of destinations to spark interest, but there are so many more and some I do not know about. Please note that I am not even including America or Canada under this heading. They are already well developed areas for ski touring and far to vast to try to cover here. But what I do want is to build up an inspirational resource about ski touring in less frequented destinations around the world for those who are inspired but something a bit different.
I have classed France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria as the more frequented countries
so anything beyond qualifies. I hope to receive many trip reports from like minded

Lesser known destinations may cost more to get to, but often once you are there it is considerably cheaper.
Also don’t forget Easyjet and Ryanair are expanding well beyond central Europe
