For most of us in the Northern hemisphere ski touring is only a winter and spring activity. But there are options if you are keen for some summer (well...British summer) skiing. July through to October is the perfect time to head to South America for skiing.
Argentina and Chile both have some well developed resorts. Skiing in the Andes, as
you can see from the photos is quite spectacular. Mendoza in Argentina is in the
heart of the Andes and is a great place to situate yourself for day tours, multi
day tours and some excellent resorts. There are companies that run organised ski
touring trips -
There are also some exceptional resorts that are so much quieter than you will find in Europe plus they are cheaper.
