Ski Tour Ascent of Meall a’ Bhuiridh

Route description: We left the car park at Glencoe Ski Centre at around 17:45, skinned up the ski runs, keeping reasonably close to the chairlifts and tows. We arrived at the summit after about 2 hours of skinning – pretty easy going since it was my first day out touring. We were well prepared for skiing in the dark, as it turned out, over-prepared. There was a huge full moon and perfect clear sky with no wind. Visibility was excellent considering it was night time. From the summit we descended back down the ski runs to the car. The snow was mainly wind-packed with some softer sections; quite icy and choppy lower down.
