There are a variety of maps available for Europe. Swiss maps tend to be in 1:25000 and 1:50000. The 1:50000 maps have ski tour routes marked on them and it is worth buying this version if it is available for the area you are going. Facewest has a quite a good selection of maps. But the best shop seems to be The Map Shop. They seem to have every map ever made!! If Facewest have what you need they are about a £1 cheaper. But the Map Shop is almost guaranteed to and they are still cheaper than other places.
